The state of Illizi (Illizi, Paltifinagh: ⵉⵍⵍⵉⵣⵉ and in French: Illizi), is located in the southeast of Algeria, about 1758.5451 km away from the country’s capital, and covers an area of 284618 km2 (one of nine in the area of Algeria). The state borders the state of Ouargla in the north and the state of Tamanrasset in the west, and 3 countries are to the east, Tunisia (25 km), Libya (950 km), and the south, Niger (100 km).

The Tassili region and the Tassili National Park are a unique center, what UNESCO called to classify it as a world heritage in 1982, and it contains primitive man’s drawings, some 8,000 years old. As for the northern regions, Hamada Tenggret and the great eastern race, the Ghadames oil basin flows 56 tons annually and imports this oil from Algeria and the regions. Central is pastoral and a vast expanse of desert, dunes, mountains and stone heights.
